How is working with you different from working with other tutors/essay coaches?

For me, every student is unique and so are their tutoring needs.  It is vital to me that I understand both the student and their needs so I can tailor my approach for that student.  I always start with a structured assessment with each new student.  This not only improves how I customize my instructional plan and creates rapport with the student.  Nothing I do is out of a box, but I am always happy to try out of the box approaches to meet the student’s specific learning struggles or goals. 
 

Who do you work with?
I work with high school students who want to prepare for SAT, ACT, AP Lang and AP Lit.  I also offer college essay coaching for seniors and rising seniors applying to college.  In addition, I offer writing support for struggling middle and high school students as well as advanced writing skills for middle and high school students who want to improve their academic writing skills for AP or college level courses.  Finally, I work with students who want to prepare for the ISEE and SSAT private school entrance exams for all grade levels. 

Do I have to pay for multi-session packages?
No, I don’t require families to pay for multi-session packages in advance.  I offer a no obligation assessment (there is a fee for the assessment) and then offer families a detailed tutoring plan and recommended number of sessions.  I also offer the option to pay for individual sessions or multiple sessions (no more than 5 at a time) so families can decide which payment option works best for them.
